Waiting for the Pelican to Cross the Street

This is a new installment of Pelican crossing in my town. It was situated in front of the regional hospital (RSUD Dr. Moewardi, Solo) and in a very busy provincial street. The need of this crossing is very urgent though, it’s pretty difficult to cross by yourself manually. Many big vehicles, buses, cars and motorcycles used this street. So yeah… The Pelican crossing gives people a means to safely cross the street even though it makes the street kind of congested in a way.

The Pelican crossing doesn't really used by people. Most of them just cross the street without using the lamp. And see that street divider in the mid of the zebra cross? -_-

Well, the divider probably meant to drive off some motorcycles that tried to take turn on this zebra cross but it looks ridiculous for me. LOL. I hope people started to give pedestrian some spaces for themselves. Many of them just take over spaces that was meant for pedestrians and it’s pretty bad! It’s difficult to just cross the street whether you were perched on the end of Zebra cross or not.

P. S.

I was just wondering why with animals crossing? LOL. I mean: zebra crossing, pelican crossing, panda crossing, toucan crossing and probably much more. Is there turtle crossing too?
